People ask me all the time "How did you get started Vanessa? How in the heck did you build a multi million dollar women's empowerment company?"
The answer is simple ...
I FAILED A LOT on the way to getting it right.
I started several companies that flopped and even went bankrupt in 2006 because I had ZERO clue about marketing and sales.
I figured out I had better learn marketing & sales if I wanted to live life on my terms instead of working hard to make other people rich.
I got my first taste of entrepreneurial success ... true story ... selling mops and LINT removers for this direct sales company.
I was still working for someone else but it was a good stepping stone. I got to practice these mini sales pitches on stages everyday.
I travelled all over God's creation in my camper van one summer working my way across the country in stores for 2 weeks at a time.
One summer I drove all the way across Canada living in trailer parks, having my morning shower in the lake before going to work doing live product demonstrations.
Let me tell you something... it gets freaking COLD having your morning bath in the lakes in Canada in October!
I did that mop gig for 4 years. And I became the best sales person in the company at the time because I decided to do something nobody had done before, this traveling all over the place thing. I love traveling always have.
I started making REALLY good money selling mops, some days $900, $1000, $1500 even per day on straight commission.
If I didn't sell mops, I didn't get paid. SO it was a GREAT training ground for entrepreneurship.
AND as good as the money was... I also KNEW deep in my SOUL that selling MOPS WAS NOT my life's purpose.
I KNEW God had more in store for me than selling mops. But that's how I got my first taste of success.
One day I had an idea "what if I sold high end coaching consulting using the same mop pitch?"
Hmmmmmm
Would it work?
It did!
Like gangbusters!
My First Workshop I Did at a Law of Attraction Meet up Event I Made $3900!
Success!
I was so happy to be able to quit that freaking mop job and have REAL FREEDOM to do what I love, teach people and be able to make my own income and not have to go to work in a store every day.
The next little workshop I did was in my yoga teachers basement.
I made $11,000 with only 15 people.
The next workshop I gave I thought NOBODY would show up there was a HUGE snowstorm storm, 20 people showed up and I generated over 20k in sales!
One thing for sure... I was onto something!

That was a big deal. I was SO nervous!
This was like REAL. Lights, camera's ACTION time, a stage, a teleprompter, timers... all the things.
I remember I had just come home from spending the winter in Costa Rica I had just come back from testing out this travel n live anywhere with a coaching biz idea of mine.
I gave a few workshop talks out in Costa Rica and sat on the beach for 6 weeks dreaming about COULD I REALLY be able to do this coaching thing FULL time and leave the dang mop gig behind for good?!
I was so scared I wouldn't be able to make as much money in my business as I was making at my job. I was like terrified.
You know the whole FEAR of the unknown thing. It's a REAL thing!
Anyways after the TED Talk people started reaching out to me to help them with their workshop talks and events.
I helped a client put together, market and a successful 140 person ONE DAY LIVE EVENT that I was invited to speak at called " A Juicy Woman's Journey" it was SO much fun!
I started giving workshops all over the place in Canada, Costa Rica, Hawaii, up and down the California coast ... and began teaching other rockstar women, my clients how to apply this workshop profit secrets system.
I watched their confidence & cash flow explode too!
I Moved to Hawaii, Became the "Bikini Biz Coach"
I decided if I could live ANYWHERE in the world doing workshops... I may as well live in Hawaii! I mean come on! It's every Canadian's dream.
Kauai Hawaii is a paradise island and I loved it BUT... it's also a small island and there were only so many workshops you could give on a small island like that.
So I decided to DIVE in and start REALLY investing in learning online marketing. It was either THAT or go back to the Canadian winters which I wasn't a fan of.
I started doing video challenges, and started teaching other women how to create a portable profitable online coaching biz they could rock in their BIKINI if they want to.
Then I wrote my second book, and launched a Global Women's Empowerment MOVEMENT with "Take Your Power Back Now: The Ultimate Confidence Guide For Women" about healing from a toxic relationship, overcoming FEAR & Thriving.
I didn't think anyone would read it. I sat on the story I never wanted to tell for like 5 years!
5 years I sat on that story, who would have known THE STORY YOU NEVER WANT TO TELL IS THE STORY YOU MUST TELL!
The book was a hit.
My work was being featured on FOX, ABC, CBS and NBC television shows.
The huffington post... on and on.
I grew a team of 30 people and started serving as many women as I could handle... teaching them confidence & cash flow strategies, MINDSET MASTERY mixed with simple marketing and sales principals to help them get the word out about their spiritual coaching / healing businesses.
Eventually I began running my own in person LIVE events in San Diego and Hawaii and never looked back.

Fail forward fail faster. Failure is just a lesson. Success is just a lesson applied. So you don't ever really fail unless you stop trying. Redefine failure and you're half way there!
Bet on YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU ARE THE LOTTERY TICKET. The chances of you learning new skills and succeeding are FAR greater than trying to win the lottery. ESPECIALLY if you're willing to lean all in and be coachable to follow a proven system and get results like others have.
Then you jut strap your tits on, and get to work.
You're going to have to work anyway you slice the pie. You may as well work for yourself and create a lifestyle and income on your terms doing what you love!
And I sure do LOVE teaching and celebrating rockstar women willing to take a RISK, learn new skills and skyrocket their confidence & cash flow in the process.
