Master Your Inner Game for Success
Have you ever wondered why it is that you make goals, you feel determined to change, you know “this time it will be different” you say to yourself and you write your new years resolutions full of conviction, maybe make yourself 30 day challenge or 100 day challenge you read all the self help books yet still, nothing REALLY changes?
If you’re tired of falling into the same old patterns and giving up on your dreams then you’ll love these 6 keys to shifting a core belief. Roger Allen Ph.D and author of “The Hero’s Choice. Living from the Inside Out”, has empowered tens of thousands of people through this simple 6 step process I’m about to share with you.
It really all boils down to a “Key Moment”, those times in our lives when we are faced with a challenging, upsetting situation or event. What I call a “wake up call” from the Universe or higher power inviting us into change.
Roger explains that consciously or unconsciously we make a choice about how to respond in these key moments. The quality of our lives is determined by these choices. People who respond positively grow in self-confidence and effectiveness. People who respond negatively become less effective.
The first step is awakening to the awareness that we have the power to make a different choice.
Below is displayed the process we go through when faced with these key moments in our lives and where along the timeline we have can make produce effective change.
It seems oversimplified when you look at life this way. You might be thinking to yourself as you’re reading this “Ya easier said then done” in the midst of a personal emotional crisis the last thing you think about is “how am I creating this?” It’s like some automatic survival mode switch goes off inside and takes over. But remember life doesn’t happen to us, it is created by us and we all know deep down inside that we have the power to choose differently.
And the cold harsh fact about life is that it will continue to send you “wake up calls” sometimes in the fashion of a gentle tap with a 2×4 on the side of the head until it becomes so painful the only thing we are faced with is embracing the opportunity to reinvent ourselves. Because that’s what life is all about.
I’m asking the Universe for toothpicks instead of 2×4’s thank you very much, I can do without the drama.
And if you’re in the same boat, then consider how your distortions in thinking affect your outcomes.
Rogers life’s work researching behavioral change has shown time and time again that a person distorts logical thinking by:
• Black and White Thinking
The secret to changing a core belief, since our beliefs create our behaviors and our outcomes lies in interrupting these patterns of thought.
So try this, think of a key moment you’ve just been through or are perhaps still struggling with. It could be the death of someone close to you, the loss of a job, or even the same recurring pattern of how you behave in a close relationship with someone you love. You can apply this 6 step process to any personal or business dilemma you are facing with extraordinary results.
Pick a key moment and then follow answer the questions below on a sheet of paper.
